Occupation | Started work in Dundee shipyards. Described as "iron sawyer". By 16 years of age, a prominent football player. Among the first professionals and in 1893 became one of the original members of Dundee FC. Also played with Newton Heath (now Manchester United) 1895. Sunderland and Burnley 1896. Brighton United 1898. Returned to Dundee 1899-1900 and played international for Scotland and retired at age 30 as professional player. 1910 trainer for Dundee win Scottish cup for first time. 1922 contracted pnemonia. 1924 became groundsman at Dens park. 1926 died of cancer.
